UK Chart: Homefront takes the offensive

This week the FPS King Call of Duty: Black Ops has finally fallen, with the crown being stolen by THQ’s latest blockbuster shoot-’em-up Homefront — it’s the first time Black Ops has failed to break into the top 10 since its launch.

Despite a 68 percent drop in sales, Dragon Age II managed to cling onto some dignity, only dropping one place to come in second.

Sega’s latest strategy epic Shogun 2: Total War had strong opening week, knocking both Pokemon Black and EA’s Fight Night Champion down a peg to steal fourth place. Nearly 80 percent of its total sales occurred in its opening 24 hours.

The perennially popular Just Dance 2 and FIFA 11 both retained solid sales figures managing to come seventh and eighth respectively. The two are now the longest surviving titles in the UK top 10 this year.

Elsewhere, EA’s Bulletstorm suffered a devastating week dropping five places to come in eleventh. Its chief launch rival Killzone 3 fared slightly better crawling in at number nine.
