Uncharted 3

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced that Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, the latest in Nathan Drake’s treasure-hunting adventures, shipped 3.8 million units worldwide on launch day.

The company went on to state that the game is on course to become the biggest-selling title in the series and one of 2011’s largest releases.

Uncharted 3 is a blockbuster and these incredible sales figures reflect that,” said Nick Caplin, head of communications at SCEE. “Consumers are clearly as eager to play the game as critics were to heap praise upon it, and the team at Naughty Dog deserve this fantastic reception at retail.”

According to figures from VGChartz, the game has sold approximately 1.1 million of those units worldwide sans Japan in the game’s first week. The PlayStation 3 exclusive has received wide critical acclaim since its release last Tuesday, and readers should expect GamerNode’s Uncharted 3 review in the coming days.
