Unofficial Motion Sensor Accessory Coming to Xbox Controllers

The Nintendo’s Wiimote and Sony’s Sixaxis controller both incorporate motion sensing capabilities. Microsoft added motion sensors to its early Xbox controllers, but according to Microsoft VP Peter Moore, the idea was a flop and not well received by the public. But now, things maybe changing as an inventor, Adam Thole, has decided to do what Microsoft hasn’t — add motion sensors to the Xbox controller.

According to his site website, Thole has successfully created a "tiltboard" accessory for the Xbox controller. The demand for his product has been phenomenal and he has been able to strike a deal with peripheral maker Tailsmoon to produce his device in larger quantities.

Thole said, "After much demand for my product and lots of commercial interest, I have negotiated a deal with specialist peripheral makers Talismoon. We are working together on a very cool product, which will bring tilt sensitivity for the Xbox 360 to the masses. Unfortunately I can not say much more yet, but it will be worth the wait."

A demo of how the tiltboard works can be seen here.
