When In Doubt – Press F1

The following blog bit, taken from The Life Ironic, describes a gamer™s experience in dealing with the Logitech customer service website. The Problem: He doesn™t have a manual for his recently purchased, Logitech Cordless Attack Controller for his Xbox. The Solution: He asks customer service for a manual in a .pdf file, since he knows that written manuals are no longer shipped with many of Logitech™s products. The Response from Logitech: Please note that Logitech no longer ships manuals with its products. Instead, each product comes with a Setup Guide or a Getting Started guide along with an extensive Help file you can access through the software. The Setup/Getting Started guides are simply designed to tell you how to connect the product. However, once you have installed the software, YOU CAN OPEN THE SOFTWARE AND PRESS F1 TO VIEW THE HELP SYSTEM FOR MORE INFORMATION ON USING THE PRODUCT. (our emphasis on the upper case) Well, excuse us, but there is no F1 button on the Xbox. Or maybe we missed this fact for the past several years? We know this isn™t really news, but we thought it was pretty funny as far as life experiences go. Now we know the answer to all of our problems: Press the F1 button.
