White Knight Story details emerge

whiteknightstoryI don’t know if you noticed, but Level-5’s White Knight Story missed the party at this year’s E3. The good news is that it showed up at the Playstation Premire event in Tokyo on Tuesday. It was shown in the form of a live demonstration by Producer Akihiro Hino.

During the show, Hino revealed that the plot of the game centers around the tried-and-true "rescue the princess" formula. I have never been opposed to that goal, and try to live my life by the phrase.

Other details about the game are as follows:

  • Story driven structure – finish one area to advance to the next. It won’t be completely linear, however, as quests and objectives will appear in completed areas later on
  • Characters will apparently include Pokemon-esque sorts of battles, except instead of little Pokemans, White Knight Story makes use of gigantic, hulking warriors
  • These giants will be the equivalent of 7 meters tall. (For reference, the regular characters are about 2 meters tall)
  • There will be a character creation component. The main characters are already set, but players can customize certain party members that accompany them
  • There will be a playable demo at this year’s Tokyo Game Show

Two months until the game is finally dished out in playable form. I’ll be ready for it.
