Xbox Live Originals contest asks for TV pilot submissions

Have you ever watched a television show and commented, "Man, that’s trash. I could do better than that." Well, you can now put up or shut up as Microsoft is running a contest to see who can produce the best 5-15 minute pilot for a TV show to be featured on Xbox Live. The categories are drama, comedy, sci-fi or any other theme suitable for broadcast on Xbox Live. The entry formats can be in animation or live action form.

The contest is conducted in conjunction with the New York Television and Film Festival. Entries may be submitted from April 16, 2007 to June 29, 2007. The winner of the competition will receive $100,000 to produce a series of six programs based upon the pilot and will also have their works featured at the 2007 New York Television Festival. Content that has been aired on cable or other professional broadcast mediums are not eligible for the competition but may be submitted in a special category.

Entry fees are $25 for each submission. For the official rules and legal parameters of the "Xbox Live Originals" contest, check out the official website.
