Atlus USA becomes an Xbox 360 publisher, announces 2 new titles

Atlus USAAtlus USA has just announced that they’ve officially entered a partnership with Microsoft to publish games on the Xbox 360. Their first two titles coming out in 2008? Two strategy RPGs: Operation Darkness and Spectral Forces 3.

Operation Darkness takes place in an alternate WWII-era world where fantasy and reality collide. Leading an army of ruthless officers and unearthly creatures, Hitler marches through Europe, leaving behind a trail of death and destruction. It’s up to you and your team to cut deep into the heart of the Third Reich and stop Hitler and his evil minions. (At least it’s a new take on WW2… Right?)

Spectral Forces 3 is also a fantasy-based title, taking place in what’s called "Magic era: 996." Overlord Janus has just died, and the ten kingdoms of the land are each trying to unify the continent under their banner; this is the beginning of the Great Neverland War. (No, I don’t know if they’re connected.)

I, for one, can’t wait. Not only do we get a possible Hitler vs Elves showdown, but we’ll finally be getting some SRPGs on the 360.

The exact release and ESRB rating of both games is unknown as of now, but stay tuned as we hear more.
