Dragon’s Dogma gets release date, 360 buyers get bonus

Dragon's Dogma

Capcom announced today that the open-world fantasy action title Dragon’s Dogma will see a North American retail release date of May 22 (May 25 in Europe) on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles, and that purchasers of the 360 version will have the opportunity to play a demo of Resident Evil 6 before anyone else IN THE WORLD.

Jumping on the tie-together bandwagon most recently seen with EA’s Mass Effect 3 and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Capcom will be including a download token with all retail copies of Dragon’s Dogma that will be redeemable via Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network for a Resident Evil 6 demo later in the year. Xbox 360 Dogmateers will get first crack at the demo on July 3, a full two months ahead of everyone else.

This may seem to be another odd pairing, as these two titles have little in common aside from huge enemies (at least judging from past Resident Evil games, anyway) and a third-person perspective, but perhaps that’s the point. These publishers want players to try out their entire game rosters, and these promotions are just the ticket to encourage that.

GamerNode agrees: expand those gaming horizons, people!
