First Grand Theft Auto V trailer revealed

GTA V

Last week Rockstar officially announced the existence of Grand Theft Auto V. Now fans can get their first look at the upcoming entry in the famed franchise with its debut trailer.

There have been many debates about where Grand Theft Auto V will take place, and a rumor was floating around recently that the series would return to Los Santos. The trailer has revealed that to be true.

Los Santos, Rockstar’s take on the city of Los Angeles, was the location for 2004’s Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. That game also had surrounding cities such as San Fierro and Las Venturas. It’s unclear at this point whether Grand Theft Auto V will include those locales as well.

The trailer also features narration from the game’s main protagonist. It seems like he’s trying to abandon a life of crime so he can be a family man in Los Santos. But this is a Grand Theft Auto game, so obviously that doesn’t work out too well.

Unfortunately details regarding platforms and a release date for Grand Theft Auto V were absent from the trailer. But it’s likely that Rockstar will detail more information in the coming months.

Fans who have yet to see the trailer can view it below.

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
