Games come to Google+

Google plus games

Games have become increasingly popular on sites like Facebook. Now Google has decided to bring them to its own social networking service, Google+.

This news comes as no shock, but today is the first time that anyone has been able to play games on Google+. Users will be able to access the new page at the top of their streams. In addition to the actual games, this new page will feature friend updates, invites, accomplishments, and high scores.

There are currently 16 games to choose from on Google+, including popular titles such as Angry Birds and Dragon Age Legends. Obviously more will be coming in the near future, and potential developers can find information on the Google+ Platform Blog.

This new addition to Google+ is currently in a roll out phase, but everyone should have access to the new games page in the very near future.

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
