Gravity Rush gets official release date, new trailer

Gravity Rush

Gravity Rush, a visually striking Vita game, was originally announced as a “launch window” title for the new Sony handheld. Now it turns out Vita owners in North America will have to wait a bit longer to play the unique action-adventure game.

SCEA Product Marketing Manager Wilson Cheng took to the PlayStation Blog to announce Gravity Rush‘s official release date: June 12. The game already came out in Japan earlier this month to critical acclaim, including a near-perfect score from popular Japanese videogame magazine Famitsu. Unfortunately the localization process is taking longer than expected.

In the meantime, interested gamers can take a look at the brand new trailer, which includes both gameplay and live-action floating apples.

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
