Kain and Raziel of the Legacy of Kain and Soul Reaver series are now downloadable playable characters in Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Getting these characters will cost you $4.99 on either console.
The gameplay itself is unchanged, but from the looks of the trailer, it seems like new dialogue has been recorded for the new characters, as well as some slightly different story scenarios.
It’s been awhile since we have seen these characters star in their own game, and it’s certainly possible that Eidos is looking to see if their reappearance fuels any excitement for their respective franchises. It could also just be an attempt to capitalize on the nostalgia fans have for the Legacy of Kain and Soul Reaver games. Either way, it’s cool to see these relatively unknowns of the gaming world showing up in a great game.
