LIMBO sells 300,000 virtual copies

LIMBO

In an interview with Gamasutra, LIMBO level designer Jeppe Carlsen discussed some of the design ideas behind his game. The story also points out that LIMBO has sold over 300,000 copies, which is good news for any Xbox Live title. Playdead’s nine person team must be pretty happy about the success of their game. It seems like everyone loved the game, Gamernode included, and gamer-consumers openened their wallets in appreciation.

It’s exciting to see a title like LIMBO be successful both critically and financially. It’s difficult in any artistic media to sit comfortably in both the artistic integrity and financial stability camps, but Playdead has been able to do it. Take notice developers; you don’t always need explosions and boobs to make a hit game. Or color apparently.
