Moore: EA still supporting Tiger

Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods’ miniscule appearance on the cover of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 seems to indicate that the golfer’s relationship with EA isn’t as strong as it once was. But that is not the case according to the company.

Peter Moore, EA Sports president, explained that Tiger Woods is still a very important part of the franchise.

"We, like everybody else that’s involved with Tiger and the game of golf in general, the Augusta club, are all anticipating a great year for golf this year and Tiger being very important in that," he said.

"If the insinuation is it’s a reflection of EA Sports backing away from its relationship that goes back literally 13 years with Tiger, that’s not the case whatsoever. This is obviously a very important day in our history and an important day in the world of golf videogames, and focusing on the Masters is the right thing to do."

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters is set to release on March 29 in North America and April 1 worldwide for the Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
