Prices for PlayStation Vita memory cards revealed

PlayStation Vita

Gamers looking forward to the launch of the PlayStation Vita next year will have to fork over some extra cash to purchase a memory card as well.

Listings on GameStop’s website have revealed four different models: 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB. Prices for the cards range from $29.99 to $119.99.

Possessing one is required to save progress in most Vita titles, so prospective buyers of the upcoming handheld will definitely want to purchase one. Basic sales of the Vita will not include a memory card.

With prices like those, perhaps digital downloads aren’t the way of the future quite yet.

Sony’s PlayStation Vita is set for a February 22, 2012 release date in North America and Europe.

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
