Resident Evil: Revival Selection to remaster classics

resident evil 4

A rumored leak from Famitsu today puts Leon and friends back on the generational map as remastered versions of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica will be reportedly making their way into a collection called Resident Evil: Revival Selection for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

To be clear, the versions being remastered are the most fully fleshed out iterations of these great horror classics. Resident Evil 4 will include the "Separate Ways" expansion of Aya’s adventures and Resident Evil: Code Veronica will feature the extra cutscenes found in Resident Evil: Code Veronica X.

The timing of this rumor lends to its believability as next Tuesday marks the fifteenth anniversary of the Resident Evil series. Capcom is not likely to let this milestone go un-celebrated, and if the rumor for Famitsu is true, then gamers everywhere will be celebrating as well.

UPDATE: Andriasang reports that the full title "may actually be" Resident Evil Revival Selection HD Remastered Version (oh boy, I can’t wait to use the acronym RERSHDRV), and that the magazine includes comparison photos of the original and HD versions of the games, suggesting HD-quality visual upgrades.
