On Wednesday Origin launched a “Six Days of Action Games” sale with discounts up to 50% off many popular titles. For the most part, console games are getting discounts around 33%, while PC downloads are mostly 50% off. Hot PC download titles include Tomb Raider for $25, Assassin’s Creed III for $25, and Dead Space 3 for $30. All of those games mentioned are at their lowest prices ever. And if you’re anti-Origin, fear not, because most Square Enix titles, such as Tomb Raider, are activating on Steam.
This week begins GamersGate’s Spring PC download sale with a total of 436 games at bargain prices. Every day they’ve been refreshing 4 new “Deals of the Day” and also have solid bundle offers and weekly game sales. The best discounts we found were The Cave for $5.10, Dollar Dash for $4.98, and Alpha Protocol for $3.74.
Dead Island: Riptide released earlier this Tuesday and the PC digital version can be had for $32. If you love Dead Island, here’s a new island with more zombies to co-op smash. If you thought Dead Island was the worst hype ever… well, you’ll want to stay away.
Another Tuesday release was the latest sci-fi action title, Star Trek. A young Kirk and Spock take on challenges in a game that may have more in common with Army of Two than previously Star Trek titles. If you’re a Trekkie, you may want to check this game out. Otherwise, reviews are a rather mixed bag.
