New Tradeshow May Fill E3's Shoes

While one ginormous tradeshow is downsizing, another may take its place. The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), owner and producer of the International CES, the world,s largest tech tradeshow, announced that it is forming a committee to explore the possibility of holding a West Coast event in 2007, focused on the gaming and entertainment marketplace.

The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) attracts 2700 companies and exhibitors, with more than 11 percent of those who attended the 2006 convention expressing a specific interest in gaming. Until E3 was formed in 1994, CES was the nation,s largest gaming show, and the Xbox and PlayStation were both launched or previewed at CES.
