Square Enix trademarks Final Fantasy Type-0

Yesterday, Square Enix filed a new trademark titled "Final Fantasy Type-0" with OHIM, the European trademark database.

This could be a hint, albeit an obscure one, of a new release, remake or something else entirely for their ever-expanding franchise. The trademark included the picture shown above, which says "Type-0" in Kanji and English.

The company is known for remaking and re-releasing their games for every platform under the sun, but it is still unclear what this new logo and new title mean.

Next month, Square Enix will be holding their 1st Production Department Premiere, which will be a giant conference to showcase upcoming games like Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Perhaps something about "Type-0" will be revealed then.
