Rumor has it that a prequel to the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time series is in the works. What’s more is that another trilogy, not just a single game, is planned.
Surfer Girl Reviews(?) claims to have screen shots of a very early build of Prince of Persia: Ghosts of the Past, currently in development at Ubisoft Montreal. The site says that that, "Stylistically and gameplay-wise, the game has abandoned the dark edginess of the last two titles in favor a fantastical cross between The Sands of Time, Ico and Zelda."
The game is reportedly going to be released for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and PC in late 2008, with a follow-up coming in summer 2009.
If this is indeed true, then many-a-gamer, myself included, will be tickled pink, but a CVG call to Ubisoft gathered only the following answer from the publisher:
"We don’t comment on rumors."
