3DS Ambassador Program details surface

When Nintendo announced its astounding cut to the 3DS’ price, the handheld maker also announced it would be rewarding all existing 3DS owners for their loyalty. Ten NES and 10 Gameboy Advance titles are the reward for paying the original $249.99.

Nintendo has announced that September 1 will be the day it starts rolling out the free titles, beginning with the 10 NES games. Unfortunately, when they’re first rolled out they’ll be missing some features, including Restore Points. Nintendo will release revisions to all of the games when the company releases them to everyone and, thankfully, those will be free to 3DS Ambassadors as well.

There is still no set date for the Gameboy Advance games, other than by the end of 2011, but Nintendo has said that those titles will not have Sleep Mode, Restore Point, or VC Suspend functionality. If players want to save their progress, they will have to use the in-game save systems.

In an update coming in the future, players will be able to transfer all of these titles to another 3DS.
