Golden Joystick Awards…is it 2006 again?

Golden JoystickI’m going to come right out and say that I find this year’s Golden Joystick Awards to be somewhat…worthless. It seems that of all the winners, only World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, God of War II, and the Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero II were actually released in 2007.

If this was a list of winners from 2006, then my biggest gripe would be Okami’s absence; adding Clover Studio’s artistic canine adventure to this list would make it a dead ringer for many 2006 awards lists from earlier this year.

Complaints aside, here are the winners:

The Girls’ Choice Game of the Year 2007: Guitar Hero II
The Sun Family Game of the Year 2007: Wii Sports
The Games Radar Handheld Game of the Year 2007: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
