FASA Interactive closes down!

shadowrunshotShadowrun and MechWarrior 4 developer FASA Interactive announced their closure today. Unfortunately, for any company to close their doors is saddening, but some may have been part due to Shadowrun’s less-than-stellar debut.

What does this mean for Shadowrun then? According to FASA’s studio manager Mitch Gitelman, a few employees were absorbed into Microsoft Game Studios (MGS) to continue support, so it’ll look like MGS will continue running the game.

Gitelman also stated that about half of FASA’s employees were retained into Microsoft or MGS, so hopefully the rest can fit a good career.

In a round of irony, back in March, we reported on some wild comments from an alleged FASA employee spreading rumors that upon Shadowrun’s release, FASA would close its doors and hurled insults that criticized the game’s gameplay.
