This week’s releases: 7/18 – 7/24

Captain America: Super Soldier

This week belongs to Captain America thanks to the highly-anticipated film “Captain America: First Avenger” and its game adaptationCaptain America: Super Soldier. The game will take place in the same universe as the film and run during Cap’s early years in the war as he tries to stop longtime foe Arnim Zola from aiding the Red Skull in his plans for world domination. It will be available on the PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS.

But superheroes aren’t all that’s coming to game retailers this week. The controversial and latest installment in the Call of Juarez series,Call of Juarez: The Cartel, will be making its modern-day transition for the Xbox 360 and PS3 on Tuesday.

Anyone who’s a fan of donwloadable indie titles are in for a real treat as well this week, both for the PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade. For those who own a PS3 and missed out on last year’s hit indie title Limbo will get finally get their chance, while Xbox 360 owners will be getting the latest buzz-worthy downloadable with Bastion.
