4/2 VC Releases: Foxes, Turtles, and Dragons — Oh My!

The Virtual Console got three titles heftier today, when the combined weight of StarFox 64, TMNT and Dragon’s Curse arrived on the service.

StarFox 64, an early N64 classic, is worth its weight in Wii Points — $10 isn’t much to ask for this highly replayable shooter. TMNT, at $6, might be worth looking into if you’ve fond memories of breaking your first controller — this isn’t the ’89 arcade classic that was recently revived on Xbox Live Arcade; it’s the much harder and less capable ugly side scrolling cousin released exclusively on the NES. Proceed with caution. Dragon’s Curse — $6, TurboGraphx16 — while not a high profile title, is priced within the "impulse purchase" range, so if nonlinear, Castlevania/Metroid-style adventures are your thing, don’t hesitate to give it a go.
