In celebration of its 12th year anniversary, EA released Command & Conquer Gold for free today. In a way to give thanks to the loving C&C crowd, C&C Gold has been optimized to run on Windows XP and is, of course, 100% legal to download.
For you owners of Command & Conquer: The First Decade, the free download is the same one in the package, so there’s no need to get the same game twice.
Note that there’s some required tinkering to get C&C Gold running. EA only provides the ISO images of both discs. Therefore, you’ll need a program like Nero or Alcohol to run the game. Nothing to worry about since EA provided all the help you need right here.
In the meantime, EA is planning more surprises throughout the month of September to celebrate the 12th year anniversary. So color me interested, because who doesn’t like free games?
