Guild Wars 2 beta sign ups hit one million mark

The evidence that ArenaNet has hit the 1 million mark for Guild Wars 2's beta registration.

The registration period for the first Guild Wars 2 beta has come to a close, but not before one million fans got to sign up for the chance at getting some early access to the highly-anticipated MMO.

ArenaNet, the game’s developer, kept track of everyone who signed up for the beta and made the tally public on Ducksboard. The goal was reached an hour after the registration deadline was extended, and ArenaNet has since provided on its Facebook page a video of a large potion of the studio celebrating the moment it was met.

No details have been given on just when the first beta test event will take place or when those who get into the beta will receive their congratulatory email. ArenaNet has informed those who didn’t get a chance to register to follow the game on Twitter or Facebook for information on future beta events.

Guild Wars 2 is currently set for release sometime before year’s end.
