Blizzard offers WoW Visa credit cards

If having a credit card named after you is an indication that you’ve made it to the top, then Blizzard has a lot to be happy about. The First National Bank of Omaha will be issuing the first World of Warcraft Visa card. The new card will be adorned with 13 WoW designs.

But wait, there’s more. Not only do you get to flash your new credit card to the envy of your gaming pals, you’ll also be rewarded every time you use the WoW Visa to the tune of 1% earned for every dollar you charge on the card — or one penny for every buck. Where does this penny go? The accumulated awards go towards credit for online play on your World of Warcraft account. Monthly subscriptions go for about 15 bucks, so if you charge up $1500 or more a month, your WoW subscription fee will be covered by your charges. In addition, the WoW card will give you a free month’s subscription for signing up.

But one thing we’re not too hot about — you’ll have to provide your WoW account information up front to apply. We don’t really think this is such a good idea, but to see for yourself, logon to the site for further details. Besides, you can always enter a fake account name to bypass the WoW account screen to see what’s being offered.
