Capcom delays major titles into next fiscal year

Ken's not happy with the delay, despite the logical sense behind it

Capcom has decided to delay Lost Planet 2, Super Street Fighter IV, Dead Rising 2, and the North American release for Monster Hunter Tri into its next fiscal year, which begins April 1, 2010.

A forecast revisions document reveals that all four titles will get pushed back into the 2010 fiscal year (April 1, 2010 – March 31, 2011) and will be spread out amongst all four quarters.

Reasons for the delay are listed below:

– Avoid competing with the major titles that other companies plan to introduce
in the 4th quarter
– Preserve the value of Capcom’s titles and maximize sales volume
– Expand the lineup of titles in the next fiscal year and afterward

No solid release dates were set for any of the games in the document.
