Austin GDC"She Got Game," for those of you who are completely unaware, is a conference for women in the gaming industry. It has been put together by Women in Games International, and will take plce at the Austin Game Developers Conference on Saturday, September 8th. The focus of the conference will be women in the gaming industry an their specific experiences as they braved that somewhat hostile environment.

Scheduled to keynote the event is Centipede creator Dona C. Bailey, now a Professor at the University of Arkansas. She has been credited as being the first women to design an arcade game, way back in 1980. The focus of her address will be on how women in the industry can cultivate powerful ideas, how to communicate those ideas effectively, and how to use artful creativity to perhaps broaden game audiences.

"I’m hoping to be helpful to someone now who may be in a situation similar to the one I was in at Atari, said Bailey, " I often wish there had been a group of WIGI colleagues back then from whom I could have gotten advice!"

"She Got Game" will be run from 11 am to 5 pm on September 8th, and will play host to industry experts from Amaze Entertainment, BioWare, Midway, NCsoft, Sony Online Entertainment, Ubisoft, and numerous other games industry companies.
