Fans taking SEGA to task with Sonic game of their own (Updated)

Many people (myself included) have downloaded Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 since it was released a couple weeks back.

A definite throwback to the beloved Sonic games of yore, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, the first of a planned series, does what everyone has been begging SEGA to do for years: give us a good Sonic game!

It’s a game made in the mold of the classics that came before it.  But it’s not the only HD Sonic game in town!

Two avid Sonic fans have taken it upon themselves to recreate several levels from Sonic’s glory days, while creating an original of their own.

Sonic Fan Remix is the title of the fan-created game, which was designed and developed by two guys calling themselves, Pelikan13 and Mercury.

UPDATE:

According to neoseeker, there’s a rumor going around that the game was taken down already (it was just put up today), due to a copyright notice.  Presumably, SEGA would be behind this, but there’s no official word.

I tried downloading the game myself, but the page never loaded.
