Assassin's Creed III will have "new setting, new hero"

So long Ezio and Italy. A new assassin and place are coming to AC3.

It’s official, Ezio Auditore de Firenze’s role as Animus assassin hero will end with Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and a new hero will take his place in Assassin’s Creed III.

"Assassin’s Creed 3: new setting, new hero. That’s the way it works," said series’ production manager Jean-Francois Boivin when asked there would be a new location and main character in the next numbered title of the series. "We know what we’re doing; we’ve had a plan for a long time where this license is going to go."

As Boivin has already announced that there will be no new Assassin’s Creed title in 2011, Assassin’s Creed III won’t be releasing until 2012 the earliest. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, which will show the end of Ezio’s story, will be released in November of this year for the Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3.
