Production Fuel Cell for Notebooks

Antig Technology and AVC Corp. have announced that they will demonstrate a working production model of a fuel cell for notebook PCs at the CeBIT tradeshow held in Germnay on March 9th. The fuel cell is inserted into the media bay of a PC notebook, where the CD ROM would be. AVC Corp. indicated that they have signed deals with Taiwan notebook manufacturers who produce the computers for companies such as Dell and HP. The fuel cell will be no lightweight, as it will weigh close to 4 pounds. The best part about this unit is that it runs on methanol. A full tank of fuel will offer approximately 8 hours of mobile notebook time. At the moment, there have been no announcements as to the cost of the unit.
