Splinter Cell Trilogy confirmed for PS3

Splinter Cell

Just days after Tomb Raider Trilogy was announced another remastered port for the PlayStation 3 has been revealed. Ubisoft confirmed that Splinter Cell Trilogy will be hitting stores in 2011.

Included in the collection are Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Like the other PlayStation 3 re-releases each game will be provided with updated HD visuals. Ubisoft would not provide any additional details at this time.

This means next year will see the releases of Tomb Raider Trilogy, Splinter Cell Trilogy, and Ico and Shadow of the Colossus: The Collection. Considering how well the God of War Collection and Sly Collection were received, announcing even more of these HD collections doesn’t seem like such a bad idea.

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
