Just Dance 2 sells five million copies

Just Dance 2

To the hardcore gamer, Just Dance is simply the name of a Lady Gaga song, but to the casual Wii owner it is a must-buy series.

The original Just Dance was a surprise hit for Ubisoft, but Just Dance 2 was an invested effort by the developer and publisher, and it has paid off. Just Dance 2 sold five million copies, beating out a number of high profile games on both the Wii and competing consoles in regard to copies sold.

For the month of November, Just Dance 2 was only beaten by Call of Duty: Black Ops and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, both of which appeared on multiple consoles.

The success of the Just Dance name has spawned a whole new franchise for Ubisoft, so along with titles like the recently released Just Dance Kids, it’s likely that we will see other specialty Just Dance titles, and many, many direct sequels in the coming years.
