Another Music Artist Gets a Game Title

Now that rap star 50 Cent has his own game, another music entertainer is getting ready for their place on the game monitor. Add to that list, r&b singer, Brandy Norwood, otherwise known as Brandy. Brandy isn™t unfamiliar with the small screen as she starred in her own television show entitled Moesha. The sitcom/semi-drama series ran from 1996-2001. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Brandy will have her voice and likeness used in the game. The title will be action sci-fi based with an original soundtrack produced especially for the game. The soundtrack will also be available as a stand-alone music CD. The game is scheduled for release in the earlier part of 2007. Co-founder Matty Rich of Matty/Markus games said, “Brandy will play a strong female character who is put into a situation that she must react to — one which has the fate of the world hinging on it. She’ll play a very dynamic character. The success of games like ‘Tomb Raider’ has shown that there’s a need for strong female characters.” So will Moesha be a contender for the title of best female action game hero? Not if Laura Croft has anything to say about it. But it does seem that the incidents of real life entertainers entering the digital domain of video games are on the rise. Imagine, one day we may all get a chance to play a video game that stars John Header of Napoleon Dynamite fame. On second thought, no, let™s not imagine that.
