BioWare addresses Old Republic queue issue

Star Wars: The Old Republic

Although Star Wars: The Old Republic is set for an official release tomorrow, plenty of gamers currently have early access. Unfortunately the process hasn’t been entirely smooth.

Amid reports of two hour waits for server queues, Jeff Hickman, executive producer of live services at BioWare, took to the game’s official site to address the issue.

“While we can’t promise that there won’t ever be queues, we can promise you that we are taking this matter seriously and constantly reviewing them to make sure that they are manageable and reasonable,” he stated.

Hickman also explained how the Early Game Access program represents a balancing act of sorts for BioWare, since the company wants to reduce waiting times and place gamers in the proper servers.

With BioWare acknowledging the queue dilemma, hopefully the issue will be resolved in the near future.

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
