DC Comics to publish WoW comic; cover art revealed

tiny wow picNewsarama has the word that comic book publisher DC Comics will be publishing a new comic book series based on Blizzard Entertainment’s MMORPG, World of Warcraft. Some preview art will be shown during this year’s Comic-Con, which takes place July 26-29, while the series itself will debut this fall.

The comic book series will be a monthly issue and will be written by writer veteran Walter Simonson and feature art by Ludo Lullabi and Sandra Hope. The first six issues will feature two different covers penned by artist Jim Lee and Blizzard’s art director Samwise Didier.

Here’s the brief synopsis: "The first storyline of the new ongoing series begins when a human is found unconscious on the shores of Kalimdor, with no memory of who he is or how he arrived there. Enslaved by an orc shaman, the man must fight for survival against members of both the Alliance and the Horde. He strikes uneasy relationships with other races in his quest to find the secrets of his past."
