Criterion denies Black 2 rumors

blackpicEA seems to be planning quite a few games and sequels in the next few years so fans of the company’s major franchises will be pleased, but one notable franchise was left out: Black.

During the presentation where EA executives revealed its future games schedule, a slide was shown for Criterion where the developer was credited for the Burnout and Black franchises. This would indicate that EA may have something on the backburner for Black.

But over on Wired’s blog Game | Life, they have a quote from Criterion’s Craig Sullivan that denies that Criterion is working on Black 2.

"We’re not looking at making another Black game anytime soon, although the rumors never seem to go away and we still get a lot of letters from fans, we’re honestly not working on that game at the moment. I doubt the rumours will go away though."

Black was added to the Xbox Originals service a few days ago, which sparked interest in the FPS again, but it looks like fans will have to continue to wait.
