This week's releases: 10/3 – 10/9

RAGE

Gamers have plenty of titles to choose from this week, as a near avalanche of high-profile games are arriving in stores beginning this Tuesday. One of the most notable among them will be id Software’s brand new IP Rage, where players will battle mutants in a post-apocalyptic future via some fast-paced first-person shooter action on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Mutant bashing is just a small taste of the variety to come though, as other titles that are sure to satisfy the sports, RPG, and superhero crowds and more. Among those include the game that some feel could surpass The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and is the sequel to Demon Souls, Dark Souls, as it arrives for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Though there may not be a NBA season this year, that isn’t stopping 2K Games from releasing the next installment in their award-winning basketball series with NBA 2K12, which will feature the greatest legends and teams in the league’s history on the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Nintendo Wii, and PSP. Meanwhile, those looking to meddle with time travel and spider-powered New Yorkers will have Spider-Man: The Edge of Time to keep them satiated for the PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo DS.
