Skyrim to receive Kinect support

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

A recent press release courtesy of Bethesda has revealed a free Xbox 360 title update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The update, which is expected to come out later this month, will include Kinect support.

Don’t worry, players won’t be swinging imaginary swords and conjuring up invisible spells. Instead, Skyrim will follow in the same vein as Mass Effect 3 by including voice commands.

Among the available commands are “dragon shouts, hotkey equipping, follower commands, and all menus (items, magic, map, barter, container, favorites, and skills).” The update will also include new map functions and additional sorting options.

Bethesda will reveal a full list of voice commands in “the coming weeks.” In the meantime, fans can take a look at the preview video, included below.

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
