Zone of the Enders fans who have been patiently waiting for a follow-up to 2003’s Zone of the Enders 2 may see a glimpse of hope today straight from the creator himself.
Hideo Kojima, the creator of the Zone of the Enders games and the Metal Gear Solid franchise, tweeted a photo of the ZOE mech Jehuty with a clear description reading "Z.O.E. 3DS" showing in the background. Even though this is presumably not Zone of the Enders 3, it is likely a new addition to the franchise that will get fans excited.
What’s also interesting about the photo is that the "Z.O.E" logo looks to be reversed to show the "3DS" logo. Although perhaps a design choice, Kojima has been known to pull out the carpet from under "confirmed" projects.
Hopefully more light will be shed by Kojima soon either at Gamescom, August 17-21, or the Tokyo Game Show, September 15-18.
