Free Borderlands update will raise the level cap

Borderlands

Developer Gearbox taking over the reins to Duke Nukem Forever may be the biggest news out of PAX, but that doesn’t mean they’re done supporting Borderlands.

The newest downloadable add-on, Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution, comes out later this month. Many were hoping it would include a new level cap but that won’t be the case. Not to worry though, because it is still coming. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford told the PAX audience that the company will release a "free update to Borderlands that will both rebalance the original game around the level cap and increase the level cap for everyone."

This update will apply to all three platforms: the 360, PS3, and PC. So get ready to raise your characters to level 69 when the update hits sometime around October 12th.

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
