Final Wii Browser to Launch in April

To everyone who thinks the internet browser on the Wii is a bit, well, lacking, you’ll be happy to hear that Nintendo has announced that the final version of the Opera browser is on its way, and will be available this April. The update comes with a handful of improvements for your browsing pleasure, and will be absolutely free to download until the end of June. After that, it jumps up to 500 Wii points, so download quickly.

Wii owners have had the opportunity to surf the web via the browser’s trial version since December, and will soon be treated to the following additions:

– Improved zooming and scrolling
– A better zoomed font
– Faster startup
– Quicker access to favorites
– The ability to erase the toolbar
– "www." and ".com" buttons (woohoo!)

This list may be expanded upon by the time the final browser launches — tabbed browsing, anyone?
