Bungie: Halo 3 is "99.9% done."

Halo2Bungie Community Manager Luke Smith offered quite a bit of peace of mind to nail-biting Haloites in Bungie’s latest weekly update when he confirmed that Bungie is putting on the final touches.

"Development on Halo 3 is winding down. While there’s still a considerable amount of dudes here on site, playing through the game, testing the game, filing bugs and fixing bugs, the game is roughly 99.9% complete. That last .1% percent is pretty important, however. Right now, some testing is being done in a controlled retail environment via our Halo 3 Epsilon."

He also mentions that part of that .1% is the finalization of The Forge, a level editor mode in which players can modify levels to their liking including layout, and spawn points of enemies and players.

While we are virtually assured that Halo 3 won’t see some kind of large delay, the cynic in me has to think back to Dead or Alive 4 and remember all of those half dozen 5-10 day delays. All I’m saying is don’t get your hopes too high, because at the end of the day, **** happens.
