E3 2013: Mega Man joining Super Smash Bros. roster for 3DS and Wii U

Mega Man in new Super Smash Bros.

Nintendo made a surprise reveal at its E3 Nintendo Direct this morning: Mega Man will be coming to Super Smash Bros. on the 3DS and Wii U when the game releases in 2014.

The gaming icon is one of two new additions to the latest installment of Nintendo’s popular brawler franchise; the other being Villager from the Animal Crossing series. Alongside them in the video unveiling of the game were Smash Bros. mainstays Mario, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Link, Samus, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, and Pit.

Announced at E3 2011, this is the first time anything has been visually presented for the game. It will feature cross-platform play on the 3DS and Wii U and is being developed by both Sora, Ltd. and Namco Bandai.
