16GB OUYA console launches today

OUYA 16GB

OUYA has launched a new version of its Android-based microconsole. The 16GB version is available today and will feature double the storage capacity of the original OUYA, along with a few other enhancements.

The 16GB OUYA comes in a matte black finish, and is said to have a refined controller and boosted wi-fi reception. It will also come standard with the latest firmware, which will also be available as an over-the-air update for existing units beginning next Tuesday, Feb. 4.

The obvious draw here is that the new 16GB OUYA can hold twice as many games, apps, and media files, plus the black styling is very sleek, indeed.

The 16GB OUYA is available for purchase now via OUYA.tv and Amazon, and costs $129.99. The original 8GB OUYA is remains available for $99.99.

If you do pick one up, Consolnator, I recommend trying out TowerFall.
