Sony denies upcoming PS3 Firmware update

ps3consolealoneIn light of a whoopsie from Sony after an accidental posting of the PS3’s upcoming firmware update, Sony is now dismissing the leakage as speculation.

This is, of course, raising more speculation on why Sony would attempt to debunk a pretty fleshed out list like that. Since Sony only said the list was speculation, instead of a flat-out "no", so in the end, it’s pretty safe to say there is an update coming.

The leaked information about the version 2.0 firmware update indicated a whole slew of new features coming to the PS3, including tweaks to media settings, password-protected user accounts, a RSS reader and the ability to bring the XrossMediaBar in-game.
