Journey Collector’s Edition details revealed

Journey

Journey, the latest downloadable offering from developer thatgamecompany, was met with critical acclaim and impressive sales numbers earlier this year. Now the game will be getting a disc-based release along with quite a bit of extra content.

Although Journey Collector’s Edition only mentions one game in its title, the first two projects from thatgamecompany – flOw and Flower – will also be included in the upcoming re-release. In addition, buyers will receive soundtracks for all three games, creator commentary play-throughs, a behind-the-scenes documentary of Journey, concept art, themes/wallpapers, PSN avatars, and developer diary videos.

The exhaustive list doesn’t end there, as thatgamecompany has decided to release three mini-games. Gravediggers, Duke War!!, and Nostril Shot were all created as part of the 24hr Game Jam, and the company has decided to include them in the package as a “thank you” to fans.

Prospective buyers will be able to get their hands on Journey Collector’s Edition when it hits retail stores on August 28 at the very reasonable price of $29.99. In the meantime, the official trailer for the upcoming release can be viewed below.

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
