Best Handheld Game

The nominees are:

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

Mario Kart 7

Professor Layton and the Last Specter

Super Mario 3D Land

Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

And The Winner Is…

Super Mario 3D Land

Super Mario 3D Land

When it all comes together, Super Mario 3D Land has the quick and linear aspect of the original side-scrolling Mario games, but the acrobatic freedom of the more-recent “3D” installments. The addition of true 3D has elevated the series once again, but Nintendo hasn’t hit the ceiling yet.

WWE 12 beat out WWE All Stars? Absolute hogwash.

Yeah, we loved All-Stars, and some consider it more fitting for the “fighting” genre, but WWE 12 did a great job at pushing the sim side of pro wrestling, and felt deserving of the nomination.

It was a question whether or not to include a wrestling game here at all, actually.
